Position Summary:
The Resident Assistant is a professional who:
Provide home management tasks, assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, medication assistance, cognitive support and other delegated nursing functions as assigned according to the plan of care.
Works under the direction and supervision of the RN, to assist the tenant in meeting and/or maintaining the highest practicable physical and mental functioning.
Position Requirements:
The Resident Assistant must have High school diploma or GED required successful completion of competency evaluation; be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing; have good interpersonal skills; complete the general Perham Health and Perham Living orientation; be able to work as a contributing team member; have the aptitude to learn how to operate the assigned patient care equipment safely and effectively; have a home/cell phone which is required for assignment changes and updates; communicate effectively with tenants, families, co-workers and act in a positive professional manner; possess the ability to work independently, is flexible and dependable, is able to identify problems as they arise, and reports them to the supervising nurse.
Must be able to pass Background Study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Work Schedule Information:
Full time 64 hours per pay period in the assisted living and Northwinds memory care unit; position includes evening shifts each week working 10:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m. with rotating weekends and holidays. This is a benefitted position. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license.
