Group Fitness Instructor - BODYPUMP Sub in Fargo, North Dakota For Sale
Schedule: Substitute as needed. Various times/days/both locations.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Group Fitness Director this position will contribute to the well-being of the YMCA members by leading them through safe and productive group fitness classes in an enjoyable atmosphere.
Qualifications:
At least 18 years old
Within 1 month of hire: First Aid Certification
Within 1 month of hire: CPR for Adult, Child, and Infant
Within 4 months of hire: Group Fitness Certification in a mode that is taught at the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties.
Position Specific Competencies:
Teaches and conducts a safe, appropriate exercise class following YCMA formats and guidelines
Teaches to all fitness levels and provide motivation to all participants
Keeps studio neat and clean in order to ensure safety
Greets all participants prior to class
Has the knowledge of all class formats and is able to provide members with class descriptions
Creates a positive class environment that is non-competitive and non-threatening
Tracks class attendance as required
Informs supervisor when equipment maintenance or supplies are needed by filling out a maintenance request form
Implements group fitness activities in accordance with the mission, goals, and philosophies of the YMCA
Represents the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties in a professional matter
Maintains a constant communication pipeline with the Group Fitness Director
Continues to be trained and educated in the health and fitness industry and keeps certifications up to date
Other:
Is on time and present for scheduled shift this includes arriving 15 minutes prior to scheduled class time; when unable to work scheduled shift informs supervisor per policy and finds own replacement if possible
Is prepared by having music and other props ready before the class begins if required
Must be able to substitute for classes and be available for weekend rotation
Attends mandatory departmental meetings and training sessions as required
Maintains a neat and clean work area, free of hazards
Follows YMCA policies and departmental procedures
Follows all emergency and safety procedures
Other duties upon request by immediate supervisor
