Group Fitness Coordinator in Fargo, North Dakota For Sale

Type: Misc, For Sale - Private.

Schedule: 9:00am-5:00pm Monday - Friday, hours may fluctuate and include occasional evening and weekend hours.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Health and Wellness Director, this position will oversee, coordinate and provide direct leadership to the Group Fitness Instructors, Programs and other special events.
Staff Supervision of:
Group Fitness Instructors Land & Water
Qualifications:
2 Year degree in a directly related field or an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training and/or education
CPR for Adult, Child and Infant
First Aid Certification
Within 4 months of hire: YMCA recognized Land and Water Group Fitness certifications
Within 6 months of hire: Completion of the YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles
Job Specific Competencies:
Program Operations:
Instructs group fitness classes as needed; is a peer leader for all Group Fitness Instructors
Manages all substitute requests and fills in for classes as needed
Serves as a YMCA Group Fitness mentor to train in new instructors
Develops and evaluates new and current group fitness programs
Assists Health and Wellness Director in monitoring and tracking participation/class numbers
Collaborates with the Health and Wellness Director to implement existing and new programs
Assures the coordination and maintenance of the group fitness schedules to ensure adequate coverage
Works collaboratively with the Aquatics Director to assist in scheduling and programming water exercise
Coordinates outside trainings and brings in certification workshops
Liaison for Les Mills and other contracted group fitness programs
Proactively works with member comments and concerns considering the overall Health and Wellness department and what is best for the overall program
Develops and maintains equipment inventory lists as well as a long term replacement plan with the Health and Wellness Director
Assists the Health and Wellness Director in researching quality and efficient equipment for YMCA facilities
Supervisory Duties:
Interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
Completes payroll forms for new hires, changes, terminations etc. accurately and timely
Reviews time clock punches of staff for accuracy and submits reports to payroll by deadline
Schedules and conducts Stay Interview sessions with staff throughout the year in order to strengthen their engagement and retention within the YMCA.
Schedules and conducts Coaching sessions and Performance Improvement Plans as needed with staff throughout the year in order to assist staff in understanding performance issues and expectations.
Determines per budget approval Annual Performance Pay Increases for staff by deadline each year.
Has positive, open communication with staff and serves as a resource to them
Holds staff meetings with staff as needed.
Assures required licensures of staff are up to date as required.
Develops and implements uniform staff training and development for staff.
Assures the coordination and maintenance of staff schedules. Fills in when necessary
Financial Administration:
Submits billing requests accurately and timely
