Shift: 8:00am-2:00pm Sun, 6:00pm-9:00pm Tue
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Fitness Sports Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing outstanding member service, cleanliness of the fitness area and equipment, supervision of fitness center rules and safety enforcement.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED
Required Within a Specific Time Frame:
Within 2 months of hire: CPR Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant
Within 2 months of hire: First Aid Certification
Other Important Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of fitness equipment
Experience in corporate fitness, physical education, athletic training or a related field
Has a basic understanding of safety procedures
Excellent customer service skills
Positive, effective, calm and professional communication verbally and written with staff, children, parents and others tailoring the communication style to the appropriate audience
The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
Position Specific Competencies:
Greets all members and guests in a professional manner as they enter the fitness center
Promotes all aspects and benefits of the facility in a positive manner and by example
Circulates around the room so members and guests are aware that you are available to assist them
Gives tours to all prospective members as they come through the fitness center
Is available to ensure safety in member exercises
Keeps fitness center organized and clean at all times to ensure safety
Completes cleaning tasks as assigned for your shift
Keeps equipment repaired and functional, informing supervisor of maintenance needs immediately
Monitors supplies and informs supervisor when supplies are needed
Reads communication book at the beginning of each shift and responds to each message as applicable
Follows all emergency and safety procedures
